No account. No server. No ads.

Your texts are read and added up on your phone. There's nothing to sign up for, and nothing sold.

  • Why it asks for your textsThey are the only place your numbers come from. Tembo reads money texts; it can't send texts.
  • Why it asks for contacts (optional)To show names instead of phone numbers, on your phone. Say no and you'll see numbers instead.
  • Not a lenderTembo never lends, never chases a loan and never messages your contacts.
  • The one exception: the AI guesserIt's off until you add your own key. It sends only what it shows you, and only when you tap Send.

Is it free?

Yes. No ads, no subscription.

Which phones?

Android phones with Android 8.0 or newer. There is no iPhone version.

Is Tembo from Safaricom or a bank?

No. Tembo is made by Terra Softworks Limited. It is not made by or linked to Safaricom, M-PESA or any bank. It reads the texts they send you.

Does my data leave my phone?

No account, no server: your texts are read and added up on the phone. The only exception is the optional AI guesser, which is off until you add your own key and sends only what it shows you, when you tap Send.

What if I change phones?

Make a backup in Tembo. It's a file locked with your password, saved where you choose (for example Google Drive). On the new phone, restore it.

Does it work with old texts?

Yes. On the first run it reads every money text already on your phone, so you can see months of history straight away, as far back as your texts go.

Can I delete everything?

Yes: in the app, About this data → Delete everything. Or uninstall. Details in the privacy policy.
